Two things. First of all, I enjoyed the hell out of this movie. The music was great. The story was really good, and the depiction of slum life in Jamaica was highly moving. The blood in it was completely unrealistic, though, it was like they had leftover red housepaint from some bad horror film or something. The second thing I have to say is this: Although I enjoyed the movie and although I could follow the plot and the story, there were times I didn't have the first fucking clue what the fuck they were saying. Whole conversations went by and I found myself saying, um, WHAT? There was one character, Pablo, I didn't understand a single word that he said. Not one. Ever. During the entire movie. So, as much as I liked The Harder They Come, and I did, and plus, young Jimmy Cliff reminded me of Chris Tucker, I'm gonna have to get this DVD with subtitles and watch it again. You know. So I can get the FULL experience. And then I'm gonna burn the studio that's remaking it to the fucking ground before they shoot a single frame of film.
