If you haven't yet heard their song "Fell in Love with a Girl," you probably will soon. The White Stripes is a band out of Detroit, consisting of Jack White on the Guitar and vocals, and Meg White on drums. That's it. No bass player. There goes my theory, huh? <br> The Whites insist they are brother and sister, and when I look at them, I gotta believe that; but they're rumored also to be husband and wife or, alternately, divorced husband and wife. Whatever it is, they make some of the best music I've heard in a long time. You can check out the White Stripes website at www.whitestripes.com. Also, download a sample of their music at Epitonic.com.

I burned a bunch of The White Stripes, and I agree Max--they are really fucking good--I have been listening to them for about 2 weeks now. They rock. I like the song "Little Room" cuz it's a whole lot of jamming coming from very little instruments.

I personally like the message in "Little Room" myself, along with the music which is nothing more than a bass drum kick and a hi hat, with Jack on the vocals:
There's a lot of truth in that.

By the way, you might wanna look into buying the CD, coz when I went to get it, it was on sale for $10, which is usually put on by the record label and not the music store. The regular price on it was $15. And yes, I got it at a major store (I won't say which one, but their name rhymes with Damn Snooty).

I take back my last reply--ALL thier songs are a lot of jamming for very little instruments. Jack has a great voice--another one of my faves is "The Protecter" but that's just cuz i am in love w/ pianos.
Damn Snooty---good one. I actually bought thier cd like, 6 months ago and i gave it one listen and went and re-sold it. Sometimes it takes awhile for me to come around to certain types of music, I am ususally a "late bloomer" meaning I start liking stuff about 6 months to a year later that people don't even talk about anymore.
