I post this keeping in mind I may get ripped on a lot--I really don't care.
I have never liked punk music all that much. I always listened to it and could never understand what the hell they were saying, and the music never sounded too good to my ears, with a few exceptions (Leftover Crack, Le Shok, Fear, DK) Being really bored with hardcore lately, I decided to give it a whirl again. What is all this Black Flag and Minor Threat that people speak of? So I went and downloaded (dude, I'm so sorry Max) some Black Flag, e.t.c. and at the same time, went on some sites to read the lyrics in hopes of finding something interesting. And GASP!! I found many things interesting!! I felt exhilirated. I felt like--"Shit, I HEAR that." You see, I've always liked hardcore (at the risk of sounding shallow) for the music, mostly. I have a short attention span, and if I don't like something within one minute, then game over. Not that I am not interested in the lyrics, I am with other types of music very much so, just not so much with hardcore. And I have never liked to rant on about politics and such, so maybe that's also why I like hardcore a lot. But now, hearing shit that people have to say, other than all about thier heartbreak (which is great, don't get me wrong) or sadness, I hear people actually speaking about ISSUES. And not just politics, SOCIAL INJUSTICES and the like. SO I guess I'll wrap it up and say---anyone who has heard any kind of music and been touched immediatley wil know how I feel. Plus, I am really bored right now and wanted to share this happy little event in my life with those of you who care. And NO----punk I am not, I have just made a new musical discovery and I am pleased. (my god, and i am only/already 23 years old). You may go vomit now.
