Stevo Rules!!! ;D
I've seen this movie a few times before. But recently I joined Garageband.com, and I reviewed a band called Eight Bucks Experiment (whom I shall forever refer to as 8BX). They liked my review of their song, One Of These Days, and they wrote to me to thank me. And then they mentioned something I didn't know: they portrayed the English band Extreme Corporal Punishment in the movie SLC Punk!!!
So I had to watch it again. And it was funny to watch because I feel like I know these guys now. I mean, we've conversed across Internet bandwidth. I feel the connection with the band on the TV screen. And I found myself laughing at the lead singer's pitiful attempt at an English accent. Well, more than that, I was jealous. They got on a movie, and I didn't. But all my emotions came around full circle, because fuckit, SLC Punk is one of the greatest films of all time. I think Matthew Lillard is one of the most underrated actors of all time. He just buries himself into his part. Anyone who's ever seen The Animal Room will certainly agree with that.
SLC Punk also deals with a ton of punk issues, such as where did punk come from, the U.K. or the U.S.? Who cares, says Stevo, It's just music! "I don't know who started it and I don't give a fuck. The one thing I do know is that we did it harder, we did it faster, and we definitely did it with more love, baby. You can't take that away from us. " Ya man, I feel ya. ;D
