I haven't done a show preview in quite a while, but this show tonight is so big that I think it has to be looked at before kickoff at 8 PM tonight.
What's so big about it? Well, we're playing once again with our 401 Records labelmates The Positives. Jason of The Positives has informed us that they're going to be doing a cover of the MtD song, Loner. We're touched, and honored. And in response, we're also doing a cover of the Positives song, Amp & the Drummer (a rather appropos song considering our current band lineup).
The big MtD news is that tonight we're debuting our new EP release, Wet Dreams and Other Delights. This is a four-song EP (with two additional tracks, clean edited for radio) that we're selling for $2 at the shows. As with all our CDs, when you buy a CD you get either a free sticker and button, or a free bracelet. We just like giving stuff away. We've only got a limited number of the EP tonight, but we'll have more in the upcoming weeks. So make sure and get there early tonight so you can get one before they're gone!
Also, Barbara Brenner has changed her regular Friday show time from 7-10 to 8-11. You may remember that 8-11 was the original show time, before her neighbors started giving her shit and calling the cops any time a show went past 10. Well, the attendance for shows dropped off considerably after the time switch, so she said, fuck the neighbors, we're going back to 8-11 (yeah, Barb!).
A couple other notes on the evening: One Trick Pony will not be performing, and Barbara has lowered the cover to $6. Also, the headliner for the evening is Social Independence, whom some of you may remember when they were called "Rookie Mistake." Here's a bit of trivia: Zach Kerr, the younger brother of former MtD drummer Justin "Hitman Tony" Kerr, is the drummer for Social Independence. Just figured I'd throw that out there.
And here's the lineup for the show tonight:
8:00-8:45 - The Positives
9:00-9:45 - Max the Dork
10:00-10:45 - Social Independence
See you there tonight!
