Yep, the Punisher is back. I rewired it with the new electronics yesterday, and today I tested it out while Justin and I tested out a drummer. Yes, the auditions have begun. But we're still looking, so if you're interested in being either our drummer or lead guitarist, email me and let us know.
But back to The Punisher. Goddamn I missed this guitar. It's got awesome action for being such a piece of shit guitar. I screwed down the bridge so it's more like a fixed bridge than a tremolo, since I never use the tremolo anyway. I also added a new volume pot and a 1/4" jack, in addition to the Lace humbucker. I rewired and soldered the whole thing on Saturday, and let me tell you, playing it for the first time in well over a year was like welcoming an old friend home.
Anyway, it's restored some excitement into the band. Also, Justin got a new bass (new to him anyway). It's a Squire Bronco bass, with a shorter neck than the Squire J-bass he normally plays. However, because the neck is so short, it's hard to tune it to the D-standard tuning that we use, so he keeps it tuned to E-standard for those songs where I use a capo on the 2nd fret. All technical shit you couldn't care less about, so I'll shut up. Needless to say, we're still moving forward, even if it does mean taking a few steps backward. ;D
