Change In Band Lineup
Over the weekend we've had an unfortunate change in band lineup. After six months of dedicated service, we've asked Hitman Tony to step down as the drummer for Max the Dork. This should be in no way a reflection of his ability, except in that he may actually be too good for us. His style unfortunately didn't mesh well with ours, and so we've decided to move in a different direction. This was a painful decision to make, but we feel the band will benefit in the end, and we certainly wish Tony all the best in the future.
That having been said, we're going to be re-structuring the group. Justin Peter Parker will remain on bass, and Bret will be moving temporarily to drums. We hope to have a new drummer and we'd like to add an additional guitarist. However, we know that it's infinitely harder to find a decent drummer than it is to find a good guitarist, so until we can find a good drummer, Bret will stay on drums. Whomever we add as guitarist will assume the lead guitarist role once we find a drummer, and Bret will return to rhythm guitar and vocals.
Follow all that? Good. Because this is a direction we want to take, and we really feel the band will flesh out a lot better once we're done this transition. In the meantime, if you live in the South Jersey area and would like to audition as either our lead guitarist or drummer, drop us a line and we'll set up a date and time when you can show us what you've got. We'll give you all the materials you need to prepare for the audition as well. We'll be asking applicants to perform pieces from our demo CD, just to keep it simple.
Anyway, that's what's going on with MtD lately.
