OK, here's what's going on with the album. After a year of recording and re-recording, mixing and mastering, remixing and remastering, and then scrapping and re recording, we're ALMOST done recording it. I swear. A word to the wise bands out there: If you ever do an album project (16 songs or so), don't record it in your own studio, or you might be tempted to scrap it and rerecord it over again. That's happened to us a couple times now. BUT, the end result is, we're getting some mixes that are REALLY stellar. Unemployment Blues on our Myspace site is an example of one of the finished mixes. We've got new equipment we didn't have when we recorded the first time (like the DOD 866 Series II {old-school analog!} dual-channel compressor/gate/limiter, and the MXL 990 compressor mic for vox and whatever else we feel like, GOSH!)
So anyway, yeah, that's where we are on the recording. I feel confident it'll be done by the end of this month (yeah, how many times have I said that?). Also, we're releasing Unemployment Blues as a single on a new EP that we're recording concurrently, called The Pissed EP. And why is the E.P. Pissed? Coz every song on it is about being pissed. Go figure. In addition to Unemployment Blues, the Pissed EP will feature re-recorded versions of songs from our out-of-print first two albums, I Feel Like Shit and No Thanks, I'm Driving. Those songs are Forty-Two (the Road Rage song), PO Boxes (the Going Postal song), and S Choir (the Anti-Lawyer song). Those songs are almost finished being recorded, all we need is the bass tracks. In fact, the only thing left to record on any of the songs is the bass tracks. Oh, and there's that bridge section in PO Boxes where the guy goes nuts and kills everyone.
OK enough of an update, get back to your regularly scheduled lives.
