OK, here's the story.
Max the Dork (that's the name of my band, for those of you who don't know) is going to be releasing two albums in the umcoming months. The first, titled Crapital Punishment, is a studio album with all new material on it. That album will more than likely be released in mid-November. The second album is titled Cunning Linguist and will include bootleg recordings from the live shows I'm playing from now until the end of the year. That album will be released sometime in mid-January.
I wanna say that I have the utmost respect for Edmund McMillen and for James Marshall. But both of them have told me at one time or another that they would do album art for the next album. Well, it's crunch time and neither of them has delivered. So I'm opening it up to the Internet community at large. I know there's a ton of people out there with artistic talent. I'm not one of them. Witness the debacle of the first two albums, which were all pieced together with various clipart and whatnot. I really want these next two albums to look great.
If you are interested in trying your hand at drawing one or both of the upcoming album covers, email me at bret@maxthedork.com with your artwork. Whomever becomes the artist for the cd(s) will receive complimentary copies of the cd(s) that they drew the cover for, a free MtD Teeshirt, and advertising on the CD itself (I'll credit you with the artwork and put the URL to your website if you like on the CD) and a link to your website from maxthedork.com.
Maybe that doesn't seem like a lot. But I have a mortgage and car payments, and this is about all I can do.
