New Chat Schedule
If you haven't been to Max Chat lately, check it out. It's a fun interface with sounds and emoticons, and it runs right from the MtD site. Previously, the regular chat schedule was Friday from 9 to 11 PM Eastern and Sunday from 7 to 8 PM Eastern. However, I hadn't been exactly following that schedule. More like, I was skipping chats altogether. For months. I'm a lazy sod.
But last night, we had a blast in chat. Thursday nights from 9 to 11 PM Eastern, as some of you know, is the time for WGLS Locals Only, the Rowan University radio broadcast that showcases local bands from the South Jersey area and beyond. Max the Dork is a regular on the show, and I tend to draw audiences to the Real Audio broadcast from all over the world. Last night, for example, we had a guy listening to the show from Reykjavik, Iceland. Go us! So I thought, why not have the regular chat during the Locals Only show? People can tune in to Locals Only, and we'd all be in chat together, and since we're all listening to the same radio show, it would be like we're in the same room or something. It gives us a connection. So from now on, the regular weekly chat will be on Thursdays from 9 to 11. There's a link on the Chat page for the WGLS live audio stream, so once you get into chat, all you have to do is click the link and you're listening with the rest of us.
It's a hoot. Join us next Thursday, when we'll be sending instant messages to the Locals Only crew (AIM=wglslocalsonly) and making general nuisances of ourselves. Maybe even play another game of Grabass. Perhaps this time Dan the computer man will join in. And by the way, the regular Sunday night Dork Brigade chat is still on from 7 to 8 PM Eastern.
Net CDs
Did you know you can purchase Max the Dork CDs for $3.99? You can, from MP3.com. They're called Net CDs, and what's great about them is that they satiate the instant gratification center of your brain. When you purchase a Net CD from MP3.com, you not only don't have to pay for shipping, but you can immediately download all the music to your computer. Once you do that, you can burn the songs onto your own CD, send them to your favorite MP3 player, listen to them while you surf, whatever you want to do. And if you purchase a Net CD, don't feel like you're getting cheated out of good packaging. Email me with your address, and I will send you the appropriate CD liner so you can have an official 401 Records product. Hell, I'll even send you the cassette liner in case you wanna make a tape as well. And I'll autograph them. I'll even come to your house and sing along with it.
Well, OK, maybe not that last part. But seriously, the Net CD's are a great deal at $3.99. I think you'll agree.
