Bad Boys
Yeah, so we were rehearsing today, for about three hours or so. And twenty minutes after we finished up for the day, the cops rolled up. Seems one of my neighbors complained about the noise. The cop was cool though, he almost seemed embarassed to be there. He even said "I know it's three o'clock in the afternoon, and I know it's Sunday. I guess some people just aren't festive anymore."
Anyway, I guess I'll stick to using the practice amp rather than the 120W seismic boom I was using today. No worries there; it's an amp I borrowed from my ex-wife's boyfriend, and I'm taking it back to him tomorrow. But I'm getting a bigger amp sometime this week probably. Guess I'll have to wait for the next show to really play with it. Or just turn it down.
GDD Show Changes
Value and Quality has unfortunately had to step down from the Groundhog Day of Destruction, mostly because they're already scheduled for the IOU show the weekend before. But I've talked to Jack Swiker from WGLS Locals Only, and he says that another local band is interested in playing the show, so it looks like Diver's Lust will be playing the GDD. They've got a great sound and they are played a lot on Locals Only, so I'm really looking forward to having them in the show.
In the meantime, a down payment has been made to the Turnersville VFW Post 4189, which is where the show will be held. I know, we were shooting for the Pitman VFW, but the guy who runs the place never called me back once, so forget it. We need a hall. I went to look at the Turnersville hall and it's plenty big for what we need, and we'll probably have two stages side by side so the show will be one continuous performace from start to finish with no breaks between. More info for the GDD to follow on the Groundhog Day of Destruction page.
Live Video
Something I forgot to mention in my last update was that Tony's brother, Zach, videotaped the Brenner's show, and is currently in the process of editing it. We might release the video as a companion to our upcoming live release, Cunning Linguist. Look for more info in the weeks to come.
