I'm having issues with my PC at home. I think the power supply is burning up. Every time I turn it on I get a smell like burning electronics. So I'm only turning it on to get my mail and then turn it right off. Consequently, I have to do all my updates from work.
Well, this week is a pretty busy one. First of all, on Thursday night, Max the Dork will be appearing live on the WGLS Locals Only show. We're gonna be playing a couple acoustic numbers on the air, and we're gonna be giving away tickets to the Groundhog Day of Destruction show. We're also gonna get Jack and Kevin to play some stuff from bands that will be playing the GDD. You can tune in if you live in South Jersey, at 89.7 FM, or you can listen online by going to the WGLS site. You'll need RealOne player installed.
Sunday of course is the fabled Groundhog Day of Destruction show. It's been a few months in the making and it's finally here. I personally can't wait, and I know that the other seven bands (including Rusty Sweater, for whom I'm playing drums) are chomping at the bit. It's gonna be a kickass show. There's driving directions on the page, all you have to do is to plug in the address you're driving from. Hope to see you all there!
We've also added a couple shows to our schedule. First off, we're playing at the Bridgewater Pub in Bridgeton, NJ, on February 8th. We're doing three sets of mostly cover songs (because that's what they want at the Bridgewater), but all in all it should be another great show. We rehearsed a lot of new material over this past weekend and it's going well. Look for some old stuff as well as new, and we're tossing in a couple originals as well. There's driving directions to the Pub on the Shows Page, so come out and support the band. The more people we get out, the more likely it will be that we can get to play there again.
Also, we added a March Brenner's Brew show, just because we love playing there so much. That and Barbara has never said no to us playing there. Not yet, anyway. Come on out March 21st, it's an all-ages show with a $5 cover, and it's a fun place to play. I imagine we'll keep playing the Brew even when we make it big, just to keep ourselves grounded in our roots.
Let's see, and aside from my computer taking the dump, Tony's gonna be playing injured for the next couple of weeks. He fractured his thumb by slamming it into the hoop of one of his drums. As much as that sucks for the band, it sucks even more for HIM. But he's a trooper and he's been playing despite the fact that his bone is broken. We rehearsed for about six hours this past weekend, and I have to say that if he sounds that good with a broken thumb, I might have to break it for him more often. ;D
