Daily Blatherings, Today Edition
Last night marked the first appearance on the air of the full band version of Max the Dork. We were pre-empted by an hour's worth of gripping college basketball (What could be more exciting than Rowan versus Stockton?) and finally went on the air at about 10:00 PM local time. Well, everytime that we go live on Locals Only, we never know what will happen. Last night, I think Tony re-injured his already fractured thumb when Justin pulled on it. Smart move, Justin. Next time, just use the scissors, will ya?
Still, we got through the show, and we played a couple acoustic versions of songs on the air. It was pretty cool, and we certainly had a lot of fun. We also spent the time promoting the upcoming Groundhog Day of Destruction show and we gave away two pairs of tickets to lucky listeners who called in. Congratulations to Crystal and Josh, and we'll see you at the show on Sunday!
So how about that show on Sunday? It's gonna rock hard, I can tell you. Rusty Sweater has been rehearsing a lot, and just the songs "Vin Diesel, I Love You," "Wanderin' Charlie," and "So-And-So's A Pussy" will blow you away. RS takes the stage at 1:00 PM, so make sure you're there when the doors open at 12:30. There will be LIGHT refreshment (sodas and popcorn) available, and there's a Mickey-D's right up the road if you so desire.
What more can be said about the show? Eight bands. Nine Dollars. You do the math. Also, we're gonna have a recording engineer there to record the show, and copies of the recording will be available later on.
One final thing: tomorrow after our rehearsal, I'm taking Erin and Robbie up to Asbury Park, NJ - to register Max the Dork in the 4th Annual New Jersey Battle of the Bands put on by JerseyShows.com. So look for info on that coming up.
Lator, Gators! ;D
