'Freedom toast' served on Air Force One French toast no more Wednesday, March 26, 2003 Posted: 1:13 PM EST (1813 GMT) MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Florida (Reuters) -- On President Bush's Air Force One flight to Florida Wednesday it was au revoir French toast, hello "Freedom toast."
"Stuffed Freedom Toast" topped the breakfast menu, in a subtle slap at the French for helping to confound U.S. attempts to get the U.N. Security Council to authorize military force against Iraq.
The name change for the venerable breakfast dish -- in this case stuffed with cream cheese -- followed similar moves by the U.S. Congress and some restaurants across the country to change "French fries" to "Freedom fries."
White House spokesman Ari Fleischer, asked about the newly titled "Freedom toast," smiled and said, "We're always proud of the men and women of our Air Force."

I can't wait until the GOP and the President stop fiddle-fucking around with taking pokes at France. Why don't they spend this enormous amount of free time they apparently have and SOLVE OUR FUCKING ECONOMY ISSUES??? Why don't they stop setting back US/European relations to pre-Revolutionary War times, and do something about the fact that nearly every able-bodied working American's retirement fund has bottomed out?
Stop playing word games and do some goddamn work, assholes!

When Clinton left office, this country was experiencing euphoria like we hadn't felt since the 40's. The jobless rate was at an all-time low, the economy was as high as it's ever been, and foreign relations were solid. Bush has been in office just over 2 years, and the economy has plummeted out of control, nearly every country in the free world hates us, and we're in a war that is turning into another Somalia. It's a truly sad time to be an American. Yet the people in power keep shoving this "Freedom" thing down our throats. It's tired and stupid.
