So I'm watching the news last night, and they were showing a tape that they'd received from an Iraqi TV station that showed Jessica Lynch in and out of a coma, bandaged up and swollen. You know something? I don't need to hear anything more about Jessica Lynch. She was one soldier out of hundreds of thousands over there. Sure, her story makes a nice movie of the week, but honestly, who gives a crap at this point? Is she a hero? For going to Iraq and getting her vehicle blown up with herself in it? For being treated by Iraqi medical personnel? For being rescued by American troops? What exactly did she do to merit all this attention? Meanwhile, in case anyone forgot, there are still soldiers dying over there! And all we care about in this country is Jessica fucking Lynch. All due respect to Miss Lynch, I think it's wonderful that you enlisted and went and did your duty, but I'm sure even you can see that the media attention you are getting (through no fault of your own) is, at this point, ridiculous. And to the media, stop trying to force a damn story down our throats! Enough already with the Jessica Lynch story! .end rant.
