According to fueleconomy.gov, the SUV with the best fuel efficiency is the Toyota RAV4, which gets on average 25 MPG in the city and 31 on the highway. The worst is the Landrover Discovery II which gets a whopping 12 MPG in the city and 16 on the highway. Compare that to the Honda Insight which gets 61 MPG in the city and 68 on the highway. I guess it's safe to say that if you ABSOLUTELY need to have an SUV, the Toyota RAV4 is the lesser of all evils. But if you're going to be shopping for cars anytime soon, I'd strongly urge you to check out the fuel efficiencies on this government website.

Meh, I once had a Toyota Celica (1980) that got like 18 MPG. Also, Erin's XT6 gets about 18, but that car is just sitting in our driveway right now. (It does give you a little tingle in your nether regions to punch that six-cylinder Boxer engine into action) ;D Er, ahem...But we're talking about the environment.
