Sorenstam to play in the PGA ColonialAnnika Sorenstam, arguably the top LPGA golfer and, some say, possibly the top woman golfer ever, has been given an exception to play the PGA's Colonial in Ft. Worth, Texas, in May of this year. I've been listening to comments by sports fans and commentators alike, mostly on sports talk radio. The majority seems to think that she is an uppity woman who thinks she can compete with men but cannot. Most are expecting her to fail. But the men on the PGA tour are anything but discouraging to the top seeded woman golfer, and all seem to think she will do well. Phil Mickelson stated that she would probably qualify and finish around 20th. But when asked how he thought he would do, he answered "Hopefully 19th or better." This sentiment is echoed throughout the golf community, and among men at large. I think personally that men don't want her to fail because they are against her, but rather, they don't want to see her succeed because that would be a blow to the egos of men everywhere. Me personally, I hope she wins the thing. It will certainly shut those people up if she does. Good luck, Annika ;D
