Michael Moore may very well be my favorite person in the world. If you haven't seen the movie Roger and Me, a documentary regarding GMC's decision to close their auto plant in Flint, MI, I highly recommend seeing it. It's a thought provoking film about callous uncaring decisionmaking based on corporate greed. Moore puts a human face on the statistics of jobs lost, and really excels at showing the human condition in the face of destitution.
His latest film, which I just saw advertised last night (I'm way behind on current events most of the time), is called Bowling for Columbine, and it appears to be another Roger and Me-esque film in that Moore shows the gun rights people as the primary culprits behind the tragedy in Colorado in April 1999. His humor is very black and tongue-in-cheek, and if Bowling for Columbine is anything like Roger and Me, then it's certainly a film that I consider a must see.
