From 2600 - The Hacker QuarterlyCOUNTDOWN TO MITNICK'S FREEDOMPosted 20 Jan 2003 23:58:23 UTC A long saga will come to an end on Tuesday morning as Kevin Mitnick's supervised release expires at midnight Pacific Time. At that time, Mitnick will no longer have any restrictions on his activities as has been the case since his release from federal prison three years ago. This means that for the first time in nearly eight years, Mitnick will be able to use the Internet and travel freely. On a special broadcast of Tech TV's The Screen Savers Mitnick will be appearing live with friends as he starts to explore the net. He'll also be making an appearance on this week's edition of "Off The Hook." Mitnick was imprisoned for nearly five years on charges that were never fully explained and which many believe were highly exaggerated. More details can be found at the Free Kevin website and in our documentary "Freedom Downtime." (Additional footage is being gathered for our DVD release later this year.)
