Tonight at Midnight, and for 24 hours afterward, you will be able to download, in it's entirety:
That's 15 songs, brand spanking new, and every one of them packed full of MtD wholesomeness. The MP3s you can download will be in stunning 192Kbit MP3 quality. Then at Midnight after Election Day, they will be gone, and the only way you can get the new album is to buy it from us (or get a copy from one of your alert friends).
Now, we're taking a different approach with this album. Our first album, I Feel Like Shit, was recorded in 6 days with a computer microphone and a drum machine, and with no previous recording experience. So it's pretty lo-fi. Our second album, No Thanks, I'm Driving, was a little better in quality but we still didn't know what we were doing recording-wise. And we were still using the drum machine.
Then, our third album, Crapital Punishment, we got serious and hired an actual recording engineer to record and master it for us. And it sounded awesome. Maybe a little too awesome. Because although it's true that the album sounded polished and finished and blah blah blah, it just sounded TOO polished for our tastes.
So with this, our fourth album in 4 years, we're stepping backwards a bit. The finished product will be raw, and loud, and unapologetically MAX THE DORK sounding. We rigged the reverb button so we get a tiny electric shock every time we touch it. Yes, there's some reverb on it but not much. Listening to this album, you should feel like you're in the room with us, and that's the sound we were going for.
And why are we giving this away for FREE? Because we had wanted to have it done by Election Day, because there's a lot of anti-Bush themed music on here, and we're hoping that after Election Day, we won't need Anti-Bush songs any more.
So make sure you get on over to www.maxthedork.com on Election Day, and download a copy of Making War for Fun and Profit for yourself. There's nothing to sign up for, just download at will. And don't forget to get out there and VOTE!
We're Max the Dork, and we approve of this message.
