Yes, after what seemed like an eternity, the Loco Brackets on WGLS FM (89.7, Rowan University Radio) have resumed. Last week, the third round was capped off with a stunning come-from-behind victory by Slut 'Em Go. You may remember that the reason the brackets had to be halted was that one of the former DJs (I'm not naming names JACK) took the station's only copy of the Slut 'Em Go cd with him to Washington, DC, where he's doing graduate work. Well, they finally got a copy of the CD from the folks in the band, and it was worth the effort, too.
This week, TONIGHT as a matter of fact, the brackets enter the critical fourth round. If you remember back to two years ago, it was in the fourth round that Max the Dork was eliminated by Careless Destruction, a band that no longer exists. Well, this year we're up against Mimi Rock, and we're pulling out all the stops! We'll need all of our fans online voting for us, calling the station at 856-863-WGLS and voting for us...hell, going down to the station and standing outside the window with big "I Love Max the Dork" signs! Anyway, we want to at least get to the fifth round. That, to us, would be a moral victory. Of course, we could get to the sixth and final round and get the real victory, which would be sweet. But let's take it one round at a time.
SOoooooo... Hop on line and hit the 401 Records website. On it you'll find a link to the Brackets page, as well as a link to the Locals Only chatroom. Come on into the chat room around 9 PM (get there early to get a better seat!) and join the festivities as we attempt to edge Mimi Rock and break into the fifth round.
Also, we've got two other bands from our label (the aforementioned 401 Records) who are still alive and kicking in the fourth round! Help us get Tsunami Rising and Steven Lemon Project into the 5th round as well. How cool would it be if three of the Final Four were from 401 Records?
So, hope to see you all tonight!
