You may have noticed that Max the Dork has no shows scheduled at the moment. Believe it or not, this is by design. And for the first time in two years, our shows calendar is EMPTY.
It's a good thing, trust us. We're putting the finishing touches on our fourth full-length album, Making War for Fun and Profit. Progress is good so far, but we really need to put on the blitz if we're gonna get it out by Election Day (November 2nd!). As of this writing, we are completely finished all the drum tracks and all the guitar tracks (including Jonny-H's awesome guitar in Methane - unfortunately the only track he's recording for this album), and we've also got a few bass and vocal tracks done. I expect that by the end of this week, all the vocal tracks will be done and the majority, if not all, of the bass tracks. And then, it's mixing time. With new improved equipment at the studio, the raw tracks are coming out sounding awesome, and we may not even mess with the EQs on any of them. The plan is to have a finished-sounding, but still RAW, flat-out punk album. We're talking minimal reverb and effects. In fact, the only effect in the guitar tracks is in the very first song - the intro features a chorus effect on the lead guitar. The rest of the guitar tracks are pure unadulterated Danelectro Pastrami Overdrive. Good shit, believe you me.
OK so that's what's going on right now. No, we're not breaking up. Despite the fact that Max the Dork has now been around for NINE YEARS, we're just getting started. So keep coming around and we'll keep you posted.
Oh by the way, we've re-issued some out-of-print stuff, namely I Feel Like Shit and the Duets EP. You can purchase them online or at any of our *ahem* shows, whenever we schedule any again.
