Bunker Hill police chief nurtures seized marijuana crop 05/03/2002 Bunker Hill (AP) -- Police Chief Jesse Cunningham nurtured a crop of tiny plants in his office for a month. He watered them every 36 hours and kept them well lit. Cunningham delivered his harvest to the Illinois State Police crime laboratory yesterday. He expects the results to confirm what he already suspects, that he has been growing marijuana. The plants were seized in March from Bunker Hill High School. Police say an agriculture student had apparently planed the seeds under the guise of growing tomatoes. No charges have been filed but police say they have identified the student involved. Cunningham asked State Police how to tell if the tiny plants were marijuana. He raised the plants to maturity on their advice. From KMOV.com

Are you aware that the Al Qaida, apart from using private funding from Bin Laden himself, was also largely funded by the Medelin drug cartel in Columbia? You may think that buying drugs in the US cannot contribute to their money in Columbia, but then, how does Wal Mart get to be so big if not for the money it makes one customer at a time? Just throwing that out there.

So by your reasoning, the lawn mowers that Wal Mart sells for example (Snapper, Tru Green) only make money for Wal Mart and not for their manufacturers? Why would those companies even make lawn mowers if not to make money from their manufacture?
So if drugs were sold at Wal Mart, the drug manufacturers would just give the drugs to Wal Mart to sell? I'm not really clear on how big business makes money, that's why I'm asking.
Also, when you consider all the kids that are killed each year in drug turf wars in inner cities, how can you say that your drug use doesn't hurt anyone? If the demand wasn't there, the supply would disappear. I know that's not a real possibility, but every time someone buys illegal drugs, they are only working to propagate the drug industry in this country.
The bottom line is, people who think that their drug use hurts only them and no one else is thinking very selfishly and short-sightedly. And this is coming from a recovering drug addict who can see the destruction in his own wake. I didn't think I was hurting anyone either.
I'm not telling you to stop using, and I'm not making any judgements of your character. I'm not calling you an addict, or trying to compare you to me. All I'm saying is, try to think of the big picture. Everything that everyone does affects someone else, no matter what kind of vaccum they live in.

i dont think my drug use hurts anyone since i buy from a big black man who grows weed in his bathtub to pimp his car out...
i didnt mean wal-mart would be making all the money but i dont think they would be buying off the streets either ...if it was legal street vendures wouldnt be a nasesity (SP?) ... the goverment could grow it all if they want and start supplying it to wal-mart
