Simple question, do you believe in a Heaven or a Hell? I don't, at least not in the conventional way. I think that when the body dies the spirit goes on to another plane of existence but that it's not the Heaven that most people think of. I think that it's another dimensional reality. We live in a four-dimensional reality, and I believe that when the three-dimensional body dies, our spirits go to another dimensional reality.
What are your thoughts, beliefs? I'm not asking the question in a religious sense, only what you believe in regarding the so-called Afterlife.

I believe that our spirits always live--they never die even when our bodies in fact do just that. I'm not sure where we go, maybe we get reincarnated right away? Maybe we go to our own idea of heaven? (in Losts case--a playground at an elementary school) Maybe we just kinda hang out in the stars and sky-I dunno. I just know thta our spirits never die.

Heaven - me being on top Hell - Max being on top Hmm, I would've thought the exact opposite... Anyway, if anyone here has ever seen What Dreams May Come with Robin Williams, I honestly hope that that is what Heaven is like. And anyone thinking of committing suicide should watch that movie from start to finish, because it will really make you rethink your decision. I love that movie, I thought the cinematagraphy and effects were awesome. And Robin Williamsn and Cuba Gooding Jr. were both awesome in it. I was disappointed that Williams wasn't nominated for an Oscar for that film.

Nope, just a general comment. I thought that the first time I watched the movie. I remember thinking that all suicidal people should watch this movie before they kill themselves, because it may make them rethink their options.

It's a great movie. Sylvia Browne says that people who commit suicide don't go to Hell ,and that Hell doesn't even exsist She says that when we die, we go onto a higher plane to play around for a little while and then get reincarnated. People who commit suicide don't get to go to that higher plane, they just get reincarnated right away into the same sort of life theme they had before, misery, pain e.t.c. unti lthey learn from it. She says that what happens in our past lives stays deep in our subconscious, i.e. phobias, deja vu e.t.c. And if we learn from them and succeed in completing our lives, we get to be reincarnated into something better, or similar our previous life theme---w/ out misery, pain and suicide. Not sure how much of this I believe, then again I don't 100% believe anything about afterlife because I haven't seen or experienced it for myself.

That theory of hers sounds remarkably like the Hindu caste system, except that the Hindus believe that the highest most sacred reincarnation they can achieve is the sacred cow. That's why Hindus don't eat beef, they may be chowing down on their old Uncle Charlie or something.
There's an entire structure to the Caste system, like concentric rings of existence. The outermost rings are the lower forms of life, and the middle circle is the sacred cow. If you do well in your life you move inward on the circle in your next life, and if you do poorly in your life, you move outward on the circle in your next life.
I'm probably explaining it all wrong, but I learned it from my 6th grade teacher who was a hindu herself.

Not a cannibal, but you would be eating a being of superior moral fiber. Of course, I try to have more moral fiber in my diet, because it keeps my ethics more regular. Ba-dum-bum

Going to a higher place and playing around we be cool, and I hope thats how it works. I don't think science and religion can explain everything, and there are somethings we are probably better off not knowing.

I think that we'll all find out what the afterlife is, once we die ;D Maybe the human psyche isn't ready to understand it completely, maybe it's something that can only be understood after death, after the spirit shuffles off the mortal coil. I stole that from Hamlet
