In separate speeches yesterday, Tony Blair and George Bush each made a slight yet enormous addition to their talk about the search for Iraq's WMD. They both referred to the search, not for weapons themselves, but for "weapons programs." See how they slid that one word in there? They just added "programs" and all of a sudden, they don't need the actual weapons, just evidence that Iraq was actively trying to produce such weapons.
That's not what they told us before the war. The public was led to believe (although I for one never bought it) that Saddam had the capability to launch a strike within 45 minutes. I specifically remember the 45 minutes part, because every news station in the free world mentioned it about a hundred times a day. And now they're casually saying "weapons programs" as if they never thought that the weapons existed, and that means they flat-out lied to our faces from the get go.
Not that that's a surprising revelation. My trust in what George Bush says is nil. I'll never forget the stupid face he made on 9-11-01 when he was told about the WTC. He made that same stupid stern face he makes when he wants to look serious. It was an obvious act. He's only out to cover his own political agenda, and he'll say anything that he thinks will make him more popular in the eyes of the voters. But lying to the public to get his agenda carried out, and this war in Iraq was ALL Bush's agenda, is something that I sincerely hope gets him voted out of office.
The problem is, the public has short-term memory loss. That's why I'm here to remind them, the war was NOT fought to find weapons PROGRAMS, but to find the WEAPONS themselves. Don't let Bush and Blair pull the wool over your eyes. Tell those lying sons of bitches that you will never forget. And then remember on November 2, 2004, how Bush lied to us and how Americans died to further his political agenda, while our economy withered to dust.
